Printing test page or anything for that matter spits out infinite copies

Problem:
Everytime you print something the printer prints an infinite amount of copies and the only way to stop it is to pull the plug.

Solution:
Go into control panel, then printers. Find the annoying printer, right click on it, and go into printer properties. Select the ports tab and UNCHECK the enable bidirectional support. If this does not work, leave it set this way, click configure port and choose the LPR protocol. This seems to pop up in cheaper network enabled HP printers.
